RONALD MUGAIGA: Social Entepreneur, Founder & CEO

Ronald is a Savvy Fellow, Coach & Mentor for The Tony Elemulu Foundations and Startups Without Borders, Tutor for STEM-E YCDP, National Ambassador, Uganda for Global Environmental and Climate Conservation Initiative, and Founder of Ecomak Recyclers.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biosystems Engineering from Gulu University, a Diploma in Environmental Management, a Certificate in Fundamentals of Project Management, and various certificates in Entrepreneurship.

He is in charge of technical aspects, and strategic partnerships of the enterprise. He leverages a network of key customers, suppliers, partners, and financiers, all crucial to business creation and success.

He worked as an R&D assistant at Taka Taka Plastics in 2019 a company that manufactures plastic wall tiles in Gulu, Uganda. He previously worked as a Factory Manager in the tea industry and here comes with much-needed experience in management for the growth of the company.

AGABA FESTUS: Chief Finance Officer

Festus is the accounting officer for Ecomak Recyclers with over 3 years of accounting experience. He has worked with several organizations and startups in accounting and other management positions for the last 3 years. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Gulu University Uganda, and he is currently pursuing a Certificate in Public Accounting. Agaba also works as an accountant at Seventh Day Adventist Western Diocese in the accounting department, which has exposed him to a series of skills.

MUGASHA BRODIATE: Business Development Lead

Brodiate is the Business Development Lead at Ecomak Recyclers. He holds a Diploma in vocational studies with Education from Kyambogo University, and a Bachelors Degree in Education from Makerere University. He has worked with several organizations such as Educate! Uganda as a youth entrepreneurship mentor, and as an Assistant Education Officer with schools in Kamwenge District. He works with USAID-ICYD as a Community Mobilization Assistant. His role includes; Identify new markets, new partnerships, new ways to reach existing markets, and new products or service offerings to better meet the needs of exisiting markets. He is passionate about conserving the environment.


Edgar is a versatile, analytical, and hard-working Environmental Scientist and he oversees all the day-to-day operations of the company. He holds a Bachelors degree in Environmental Science from Makerere University, a certificate in Leadership from Learn to Lead Shepherd Institute and a certificate in ICT from the Uganda Institute of Information & Communication Technology (UICT). He is also in charge of the environmental assessments for sustainable development of Ecomak basically promoting cleaner production. He works as an Environmental Coordinator for Development Response to Displacement Impacts Projects (DRDIP), a World Bank - OPM project in Kyaka II refugee settlement. Edgar co-founded and served as a Projects Coordinator for Makerere University Waste Management and Research Association and Makerere University Climate Change Association from 2016 to 2019.

Eng. NSABIMAANA EDSON: Advisory Board Member

Edson has worked in the manufacturing industry for over 15 years. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Do It Virtual University Denmark and a Diploma in Electrical Engineering. He has overseen a team of engineers who worked on maintaining and streamlining corporate projects and has a strong track record in improving profitability and productivity. Edson comes with rich experience in industrial manufacturing.

SRUTI DEVENDRAN: Advisory Board Member

Sruti is currently working as a Science Officer with Future Earth South Asia based at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. She works on policy briefs on climate change, air quality and health sensitization topics.Sruti has done her Masters of Arts in Climate and Society Program from Columbia University in 2018, and her undergraduate education in Biotechnology from national Institute of Technology Calicut in India. She was a Research Associate at the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies in 2017-2018, where she worked on the effects of genetic adaptation to climate change on global agriculture.

She is passionate about climate change and climate services. Since her Masters degree, she worked as a Staff Associate with the International Research Institute for Climate and Society at Columbia University with the Data Library Team on processing large climate datasets, making it available to the public through the Data Library. She is also interested in science journalism, in communicating science to the public and also interested in corporate sustainability, and helping corporate companies transition to a net zero future.
